What does the new NZ COVID-19 Protection Framework (traffic light system) mean for events?
The new NZ COVID-19 Protection Framework (traffic light system) comes into effect at 11.59pm on 2 December in New Zealand.
Are you running, working at or planning on attending an event? Here's what you need to know.
At all levels:
All workers are required to be vaccinated, including staff, volunteers, contractor and performers.
Workers must have had their first dose by 3 December 2021, and both doses by 17 January 2022.
NZ COVID Tracer app QR codes must be displayed.
As much as possible, record keeping must be ensured via attendees scanning QR tracer codes or alternate record keeping.
Events at RED
Events and gatherings can occur with up to 100 people, with 1m distancing per defined space.
Food and beverage service must be seated and separated, or in a stadium setting, collected at counter and consumed in seating.
Face coverings are encouraged.
'My Vaccine Pass' must be sighted for all attendees, with verification recommended.
If My Vaccine Pass verification is NOT used: gatherings of up to only 25 people per defined space can occur.
Events at ORANGE
Events and gatherings can occur without number limits.
In stadium settings, food and beverage service may be collected at counter and consumed in seating.
Face coverings are encouraged.
My Vaccine Pass' must be sighted for all attendees, with verification recommended.
If My Vaccine Pass verification is NOT used: gatherings of up to only 50 people per defined space can occur.
Events at GREEN
Events and gatherings can occur without number limits.
In stadium settings, food and beverage service may be collected at counter and consumed in seating.
Face coverings are encouraged.
My Vaccine Pass' must be sighted for all attendees, with verification recommended.
If My Vaccine Pass verification is NOT used: gatherings of up to only 100 people per defined space can occur.
