Beervana, Wellington’s iconic two-day craft beer festival at Sky Stadium, brought together 12,000 beer lovers in 2024 for great food, entertainment, and—of course—amazing beer! But it wasn't just about the brews; it was a celebration of sustainability, marking Beervana’s fourth year partnering with Nonstop Solutions.
This year, Beervana achieved an impressive 89.2% resource recovery rate, up from 85% the year before, continuing their journey from 75% in their first year. This massive improvement reflects their commitment to waste reduction, with new packaging requirements for vendors ensuring compostable and recyclable materials were prioritised. Beervana's commitment to reusable cups also makes a significant difference to the production of single use resources across the event.
Strategic litter management, continuous sweeps, and hands-on sorting by our waste diversion specialists kept contamination low and helped Beervana recover an incredible 2,122kg of waste in total.
