Founders Words

As you may know, the zero waste sector is constantly evolving, and we are currently seeing some really exciting developments. 

Our journey here has been one of many highs and lows. Sadly, waste has been an issue dismissed and hidden for so long. More and more now though, the harm it is causing our environment is being recognised.

We’ve spent the past few years helping events minimise their waste, and seeing how much of an impact we can have, but we've only worked with a fraction of the events that operate in Wellington. We’ve realised we can do so much more to bring about significant change.

We have found events are a great place to start as they provide a closed system to trial circular economy principles. They are a concentrated representation of our society, which allows us to understand how circular economy practices could transfer to a larger scale. We believe that if our practices can work at an event, they can work in our everyday lives. For reference, a circular economy is where all resources are kept within a cycle and nothing is sent to landfill.

We are thrilled to be assisting society to deal with our waste issue. We don’t expect this journey to be easy, but we want to be transparent and to share our wins, and losses with you all. 

We have brought together an incredible team of skilled and passionate individuals. Combining this with the incredible Wellington Waste Managers community, we feel like an unstoppable force. The passion and dedication within our team and community is inspiring. 

Once again, we want to thank you for your support. We are so excited to see our ideas coming to fruition, and for all of the experiences to come.
